Maybank Online and Mobile Banking Services in Singapore

Malayan Banking Berhad, trading under the name Maybank, is a Malaysian Bank with key operating markets in Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia. It is currently the biggest bank in Malaysia and the fourth biggest bank in South East Asia. The online platform

In order to further provide ease of access to their clients, the bank offers an online banking platform that allows users to bank on the go by giving them access to various products that were used only at branches. The online banking service gives clients 24 hour access to their accounts, even when they are overseas, allowing them:

  • make account enquiries
  • carry out fund transfers
  • pay bills
  • make online remittance
  • and obtain investment advice & services.

To register for online banking, the user will need to maintain a valid personal account, be at least 16 years of age and have internet access. The user can sign up for online banking using their ATM, credit or debit card and the 6 digit PIN number that the customer would have received when they opened their account.

One the PIN is confirmed, the user will need to create a user ID and password and to validate their mobile number. It will be used to receive the one time password. It is as simple as that! As a means to encourage more clients to use online banking, the bank does not charge any fees for the service.

Security

The bank has also invests heavily in security features to ensure customers data is always protected. The system uses a 128 BIT encryption system to protect users’ data and transactions.

In addition to this, the bank also generates the user’s unique access ID and PIN whenever they log in. The system also has an automatic timeout feature that log out the account after a few minutes of inactivity. Users also receive SMS alerts when a new payee is added for transactions above the default threshold.

Mobile banking

Clients who use online banking can also access mobile banking, as the two platforms share the same access details. The mobile banking service allows clients:

  • open specific accounts online
  • view account balance
  • transfer funds
  • pay bills
  • find branches and ATMs
  • as well as have access to exclusive deals offered by and through the bank.

Users can access mobile banking either through the official mobile app or through a web browser on a mobile phone.
